Three men were found dead and one person is missing after a massive mudslide struck British Columbia following extreme rainfall.
Three men have been found dead following a massive mudslide near Lillooet, British Columbia, while search teams have been unable to locate a fourth person who remains missing after days of extensive efforts.
Royal Canadian Mounted Police officers and search-and-rescue crews spent several days searching through debris near Highway 99, also known as Duffey Lake Road, after the mudslide swept through the area on November 15. The slide sent large amounts of soil, rock and other debris across the landscape, leaving dangerous and unstable conditions for emergency crews. Search teams faced difficult weather, unstable terrain and the continuing threat of additional landslides as they worked to reach areas affected by the disaster.
