Conservative activist Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot during a student-sponsored event at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10, 2025, triggering a major law enforcement investigation and widespread reaction across the country.
Kirk, 31, was speaking at the outdoor campus event when he was shot at approximately 12:23 p.m. Mountain Time. The FBI later confirmed that the attack occurred while Kirk was addressing attendees and said the suspected shooter had positioned himself on the rooftop of a nearby building overlooking the event area. Kirk was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
